1. Our Services

The information provided when using the Services is not intended for distribution to or use by any person or entity in any jurisdiction where such use would be contrary to law. The Services are not tailored to comply with industry-specific regulations (HIPAA, FISMA, etc.).

The Campaid platform is hosted on Vercel's cloud infrastructure and uses Supabase (PostgreSQL) for data storage, authentication, file storage, and real-time features. Email communications are processed through Resend. Payment processing is handled by Stripe Connect. These third-party infrastructure providers are integral to the delivery of our Services.

2. Intellectual Property Rights

Our intellectual property

We are the owner or licensee of all intellectual property rights in our Services, including all source code, databases, functionality, software, website designs, audio, video, text, photographs, and graphics (collectively, the "Content"), as well as trademarks, service marks, and logos ("Marks"). Our Content and Marks are provided "AS IS" for your personal, non-commercial use only.

Your use of our Services

Subject to your compliance with these Legal Terms, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access the Services and download or print a copy of any portion of the Content solely for your personal, non-commercial use. No Content may be copied, reproduced, sold, or exploited for any commercial purpose without our express prior written permission.

Your submissions and contributions

By sending us any Submissions, you agree to assign to us all intellectual property rights therein. When you post Contributions, you grant us an unrestricted, irrevocable, perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, copy, distribute, sell, and exploit your Contributions for any purpose. You are responsible for what you post or upload.

3. User Representations

By using the Services, you represent and warrant that: (1) all registration information you submit will be true, accurate, current, and complete; (2) you will maintain the accuracy of such information; (3) you have the legal capacity to comply with these Legal Terms; (4) you are not a minor in the jurisdiction in which you reside; (5) you will not access the Services through automated or non-human means; (6) you will not use the Services for any illegal or unauthorized purpose; and (7) your use of the Services will not violate any applicable law or regulation.

4. User Registration

You may be required to register to use the Services. You agree to keep your password confidential and are responsible for all use of your account and password. We reserve the right to remove, reclaim, or change a username that we determine to be inappropriate, obscene, or otherwise objectionable. User authentication is managed through Supabase Auth, which securely handles your credentials and session tokens.

5. Purchases and Payment

We accept the following forms of payment: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover. You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate purchase and account information for all purchases. Sales tax will be added where required. We may change prices at any time. All payments shall be in US dollars. All payment processing is handled by Stripe Connect.

Mandatory Stripe Connect verification. To list a ticket, list a marketplace item, or earn money as a Tasker, you must complete Stripe Connect bank verification. Browsing, posting tasks as a Hirer, and submitting offers do not require bank verification. Campaid does not store, see, or process card or bank account numbers; all card and bank data is collected and held by Stripe, which is FDIC-insured and PCI-DSS Level 1 certified. Refusal or failure to complete Stripe Connect when required disables the corresponding marketplace actions on your account.

6. Refund Policy

Campaid operates an escrow-based payment system for the Task Marketplace and a direct payment system for the Ticket and Goods Marketplaces. The following refund rules apply:

  • Task Marketplace: If a hirer cancels a paid task beforethe tasker has marked the job as started, a full refund is automatically issued. Once the tasker has started work, the hirer may file a dispute (see Section 18) but automatic refunds are no longer available. Campaid's 12% service fee is included in the refund when applicable.
  • Ticket & Goods Marketplace: All sales are final once payment is completed and the seller marks the item as delivered. If a buyer does not complete payment within 24 hours of seller acceptance, the checkout session expires and no charge is made. Sellers may cancel listings at any time before payment is completed.
  • Platform Service Fees:Campaid's service fees (12% on tasks, tiered commission on tickets/goods) are strictly non-refundable except as part of an automatic full refund for task cancellation before work begins.
  • Disputes:If you believe you are entitled to a refund outside the above policies, contact support@campaid.net within 7 days of the transaction. Disputes are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and Campaid's decision is final.

7. Prohibited Activities

You may not access or use the Services for any purpose other than that for which we make the Services available. As a user of the Services, you agree not to:

  • Systematically retrieve data from the Services to create a database or directory without written permission.

Automated Monitoring & Risk Scoring Notice

By using Campaid you acknowledge and consent that (a) all in-platform messages are scanned in real time for off-platform payment patterns (Venmo, CashApp, Zelle, PayPal, and phone-number formats), and detection triggers an inline warning, an admin alert, and may result in account flags or suspension; (b) every new ticket and marketplace listing is automatically assigned a risk score at creation time based on factors including account age, prior listing and dispute history, and price relative to category norms — listings exceeding the high-risk threshold may be suppressed or removed pending review, with appeals available via support@campaid.net; and (c) two confirmed user reports on the same listing automatically hide that listing pending review.

Background Check Disclaimer

Background checks on Campaid are optional. Taskers who complete one receive a Verified Badge. Ugig LLC does not guarantee the accuracy of any background check report. A cleared check is not a guarantee of safety. Campaid explicitly disclaims liability for the actions of any user regardless of whether a background check was performed.

Assumption of Risk & Release

By using Campaid, you acknowledge that interacting with strangers involves inherent risks including property damage, bodily injury, theft, or emotional distress. To the maximum extent permitted by law, you hereby release Ugig LLC, its founders, and affiliates from all claims arising out of disputes between users or the performance of tasks.

11. Third-Party Websites and Content

12. Services Management

We reserve the right, but not the obligation, to: (1) monitor the Services for violations of these Legal Terms; (2) take appropriate legal action against anyone who violates the law or these Legal Terms; (3) in our sole discretion and without limitation, refuse, restrict access to, limit the availability of, or disable any of your Contributions; and (4) otherwise manage the Services in a manner designed to protect our rights and property.

18. Dispute Resolution

Informal Negotiations

The Parties agree to first attempt to negotiate any Dispute informally for at least thirty (30) days before initiating arbitration. Such informal negotiations commence upon written notice from one Party to the other Party.

Binding Arbitration

The arbitration shall be conducted under the Commercial Arbitration Rules of the AAA in Jefferson, Alabama. In no event shall any Dispute be commenced more than one (1) year after the cause of action arose.

20. Disclaimer

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN AS-IS AND AS-AVAILABLE BASIS. YOU AGREE THAT YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES WILL BE AT YOUR SOLE RISK. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, IN CONNECTION WITH THE SERVICES AND YOUR USE THEREOF, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

21. Limitations of Liability

IN NO EVENT WILL WE OR OUR DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE TO YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFIT, LOST REVENUE, LOSS OF DATA, OR OTHER DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES. NOTWITHSTANDING ANYTHING TO THE CONTRARY HEREIN, OUR LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CAUSE WHATSOEVER WILL AT ALL TIMES BE LIMITED TO THE LESSER OF THE AMOUNT PAID BY YOU TO US OR $100.00 USD.

21.1 Marketplace & Ticket Counter — Third-Party Sellers

Listings on the Ticket Counter and Goods Marketplace (resale) are created, priced, and described by individual users acting as independent third-party sellers — NOT by Campaid. Campaid provides the transaction platform, escrow, and dispute resolution process, but DOES NOT own, inspect, authenticate, appraise, or take possession of any item or ticket listed by users.

Campaid is not liable for (a) counterfeit, fake, replica, or inauthentic products sold through the platform; (b) tickets that are invalid, revoked, previously transferred, or not honored at the venue; (c) items that are materially different from their listing description; (d) items that are stolen, recalled, or prohibited by law; or (e) any personal injury, property damage, or financial loss arising from a user-to-user transaction. Buyers are responsible for inspecting items and verifying ticket validity before confirming delivery through Campaid.

If you receive a counterfeit, fake, or materially-misrepresented item or ticket, you may (i) open a dispute through Campaid's in-app dispute flow within the escrow release window, and (ii) report the listing using the “Report Listing” action. Campaid will investigate in good faith and, where we determine fraud occurred, may refund the buyer from escrow and ban the seller. Campaid's obligation is limited to the escrow amount for the specific transaction — we do not offer separate authenticity guarantees or make-whole compensation beyond the funds held in escrow.

No implied warranties. All Ticket Counter and Marketplace items are sold AS-IS, WHERE-IS, with no implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, authenticity, or non-infringement. Your sole remedy against a seller is through the Campaid dispute process during the escrow window or any remedy available to you directly against the seller under applicable law.

22. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless, including our subsidiaries, affiliates, and all of our respective officers, agents, partners, and employees, from and against any loss, damage, liability, claim, or demand, including reasonable attorneys' fees and expenses, made by any third party due to or arising out of: (1) your Contributions; (2) use of the Services; (3) breach of these Legal Terms; (4) any breach of your representations and warranties; (5) your violation of the rights of a third party; or (6) any overt harmful act toward any other user of the Services.

23. User Data

We will maintain certain data that you transmit to the Services for the purpose of managing the performance of the Services. Your data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL), a managed cloud database hosted in the United States, with encryption at rest and in transit. Although we perform regular routine backups of data, you are solely responsible for all data that you transmit or that relates to any activity you have undertaken using the Services.

24. Electronic Communications, Transactions, and Signatures

Visiting the Services, sending us emails, and completing online forms constitute electronic communications. You consent to receive electronic communications. YOU HEREBY AGREE TO THE USE OF ELECTRONIC SIGNATURES, CONTRACTS, ORDERS, AND OTHER RECORDS, AND TO ELECTRONIC DELIVERY OF NOTICES, POLICIES, AND RECORDS OF TRANSACTIONS INITIATED OR COMPLETED BY US OR VIA THE SERVICES.

27. Miscellaneous

These Legal Terms and any policies or operating rules posted by us on the Services constitute the entire agreement and understanding between you and us. Our failure to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Legal Terms shall not operate as a waiver of such right or provision. If any provision or part of a provision is determined to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable, that provision is deemed severable from these Legal Terms and does not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions.

28. User Eligibility, Identity, and Student Verification

Non-Affiliation Disclaimer

Campaid and Ugig LLC are independent, privately operated platforms. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to any college, university, or educational institution. The use of a .edu email for student verification is performed independently by Ugig LLC and does not involve the cooperation or authorization of any educational institution.

To access Campaid, all users must be at least 18 years of age and provide accurate registration data. Anyone may register as a Hirer — no student email is required to post tasks. To register as a Tasker, users must verify enrollment at an accredited college or university by confirming a valid institutional .edu email address via a one-time confirmation code sent by Ugig LLC through Resend email delivery. This process does not involve the educational institution in any way. Ugig LLC reserves the right to deactivate any account that fails to meet these criteria. You are solely responsible for all activity under your credentials and must notify support@campaid.net within 24 hours of any suspected account compromise. Account profiles are personal, non-transferable, and may not be sold or shared.

Multi-Campus Operation:Campaid currently serves students at multiple universities, including but not limited to the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), the University of Alabama, and Samford University. The identification of a university during account registration is used solely for platform analytics and localization — it does not affect a user's access rights and does not constitute any affiliation with the named institution.

Location & Geofencing: Campaid uses Google Maps solely to allow Hirers to indicate the general vicinity where a task needs to be performed, or to select an Online/Remote option. Precise addresses are never displayed publicly. Geofencing is a task-location tool only — it is not used for identity or enrollment verification, and does not restrict platform access based on physical location.

29. Independent Contractor Status & Tax Indemnification

Campaid is a software marketplace, not an employer or agency. All Taskers are strictly Independent Contractors. Taskers are responsible for their own benefits, insurance, and tax obligations. Ugig LLC does not withhold income tax, Social Security, or Medicare. Users agree to indemnify Ugig LLC against any tax liability, fines, or penalties arising from their failure to report earnings. You must provide valid Taxpayer Identification Numbers (SSN/TIN) via Stripe for 1099-K reporting. Any attempt to misrepresent your employment status to the IRS or Alabama Department of Labor constitutes a material breach of this Agreement.

30. The Dynamic Bidding System and Platform Service Fees

Gigs use a blind double-sided bid model — distinct from the open negotiation model used by the Ticket Counter and Goods Marketplace. Hirers set a Max Budget which is never disclosed to any Tasker. Taskers submit a Minimum Bid which isnever disclosedto the Hirer. When a Hirer's Max Budget meets or exceeds a Tasker's Minimum Bid, the Campaid algorithm settles at the Midpoint Price ((Max Budget + Minimum Bid) / 2). The minimum task price is $15.00. Ugig LLC charges a non-negotiable service fee on every transaction equal to 12% of the agreed task price, with a minimum fee of $2.00 per transaction (applicable when 12% would otherwise be less than $2.00). Bypassing the Campaid payment system (e.g., paying via Venmo, CashApp, or cash) results in an immediate permanent ban, forfeiture of all mediation rights, and potential legal action for lost platform revenue.

31. Third-Party Vetting and Disclaimer of Safety

Campaid may utilize third-party consumer reporting agencies (e.g., Checkr) to facilitate background checks for Taskers. However, Ugig LLC does not warrant the accuracy, timeliness, or completeness of these reports. A "cleared" check is not a guarantee of safety or future behavior. Users acknowledge that interacting with strangers involves inherent risk. You are solely responsible for your own safety and for conducting due diligence before meeting another user or allowing them access to your residence. Ugig LLC explicitly disclaims all liability for the criminal acts, misconduct, or negligence of any user.

32. Limitation of Liability and "Total Loss" Financial Cap

To the maximum extent permitted by Alabama law, Ugig LLC, its officers, and employees shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including but not limited to bodily injury, death, or emotional distress. In no event shall the total cumulative liability of Ugig LLC for any claim exceed the lesser of (a) $100.00 USD or (b) the total service fees paid by you to Campaid in the three (3) months preceding the event.

33. General Release of Liability and Property Disclaimer

Users acknowledge that performing or requesting tasks (moving, cleaning, delivery, etc.) involves physical risk. You voluntarily assume all risks. You hereby release and forever discharge Ugig LLC from any claims arising from property damage or theft. Ugig LLC does not provide insurance coverage for users' personal property or medical expenses. Disputes regarding damage or theft must be settled exclusively between the Hirer and the Tasker.

34. Ticket Marketplace Rules and Validity Disclaimer

Campaid is a secondary marketplace; we do not own, verify, or guarantee the authenticity of any tickets sold. Users may only list tickets they physically possess or have an immediate legal right to. Selling speculative or nonexistent tickets is grounds for a permanent ban. Ugig LLC is not liable for fraudulent tickets, voided entries, or venue-denied access. All sales are "As-Is." Users must comply with all applicable venue and institution policies regarding the transfer of student-only or complimentary tickets. A tiered seller-side commission applies: under $30 = 5% (minimum $1), $30–$149.99 = 10%, $150+ = 7%. After a buyer's payment is confirmed, the seller must deliver the ticket and mark the transaction as delivered within a reasonable timeframe. Failure to deliver after receiving payment may result in account suspension, forced refund, and/or permanent ban. Purchase requests that are not accepted or declined by the seller within 24 hours will automatically expire, and the listing will become available to other buyers. Buyers may withdraw their purchase request at any time before the seller accepts.

Open negotiation model (Ticket Counter).Unlike Gigs (Section 30), the Ticket Counter operates as an open marketplace: the seller's asking price is publicly visible. Every listing carries a seller-controlled "Open to Offers" toggle. When ON (default), buyers may either purchase at the listed price or submit an offer; the seller may accept, counter, or reject, and may also update the public price at any time (existing pending offers are unaffected). When OFF, the listed price is firm: the offer interface is hidden, the offer-creation API rejects offers, and the only buyer action is "Buy at $X or pass." Buyers and sellers may exchange free-text messages within a listing's offer thread and through the standard /messages system; all such communication is subject to the Automated Monitoring notice in Section 7. Counter-offer activity, price changes, and acceptances are written to an immutable offer event log.

35. Goods Marketplace (Resale) Rules

The Campaid Goods Marketplace (/resale) is a peer-to-peer platform for verified students to buy and sell physical goods including clothing, electronics, furniture, textbooks, and other personal property. Ugig LLC does not own, inspect, or warrant any items listed. All sales are final and "As-Is" unless the seller explicitly states otherwise in the listing. Sellers represent that they have full legal ownership of all items listed and that items are accurately described. Listing counterfeit, stolen, or prohibited items (including but not limited to controlled substances, weapons, or items with export restrictions) is grounds for immediate permanent ban and may be reported to law enforcement. Ugig LLC is not liable for disputes arising from item condition, non-delivery, or misrepresentation. A tiered seller-side commission is deducted from seller payouts at time of sale; buyers always pay the exact listed price. The commission tiers are: under $30 = 5% (minimum $1), $30–$149.99 = 10%, $150+ = 7%. Users agree to complete all transactions through Campaid and may not circumvent platform payments to avoid fees. After a buyer's payment is confirmed, the seller must hand off the item and mark the transaction as delivered within a reasonable timeframe. Failure to deliver after receiving payment may result in account suspension, forced refund, and/or permanent ban. Purchase requests that are not accepted or declined by the seller within 24 hours will automatically expire. Buyers may withdraw their purchase request at any time before the seller accepts.

Open negotiation model (Goods Marketplace).Like the Ticket Counter and unlike Gigs, the Goods Marketplace operates as an open marketplace: the seller's asking price is publicly visible. Every listing carries a seller-controlled "Open to Offers" toggle that behaves identically to Section 34 (ON allows buy-now or offer/counter; OFF makes the listed price firm). Buyers and sellers may exchange messages within an offer thread and via /messages; all communication is subject to the Automated Monitoring notice in Section 7.

Fake-product / counterfeit reporting. Each marketplace listing exposes a dedicated "Report fake / counterfeit / misrepresented" action separate from the general "report user" flow. Reports are routed to the dispute panel; two confirmed reports against a single listing automatically hide the listing pending review. Sellers may be required to provide proof of purchase or other authenticity documentation. Ugig LLC's investigation target is seven (7) days from report; outcomes follow the standard refund / payout / partial decision structure described in Section 18. Repeat offenders are permanently banned. Trademark holders may submit takedown requests to support@campaid.net; infringing listings will be removed and repeat infringers banned.

36. Academic Honesty and Prohibited Task Types

Campaid explicitly prohibits any task that facilitates academic misconduct, including but not limited to ghostwriting academic papers, taking exams or completing graded assignments on behalf of another person, or producing any work intended to be submitted fraudulently. Users who post or accept such tasks will be permanently banned. Campaid is not affiliated with any educational institution and does not report to or communicate with any institution regarding user activity, except as required by law.

37. Intellectual Property, Reviews, and Prohibited Content

Ugig LLC owns the Campaid brand, code, and platform design. Users grant Ugig LLC a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to display any content they upload. We reserve the absolute right to moderate, edit, or delete any content containing explicit language, hate speech, harassment, or contact information used to circumvent fees. Ratings and reviews must be truthful; "review manipulation" or fake reviews are strictly prohibited. Ugig LLC reserves the right to terminate any account for low ratings or toxic behavior that threatens the campus community.

38. Mandatory Arbitration, Refund Policy, and Time Limits

All platform service fees are strictly non-refundable. Any dispute between a user and Ugig LLC shall be resolved via binding arbitration in Birmingham, Alabama, following a mandatory 30-day informal negotiation period. Class-Action Waiver: You agree to bring claims only in your individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class or representative proceeding. Statute of Limitations: Any cause of action arising out of your use of Campaid must be filed within one (1) year of the event, or such claim is permanently barred.
